Employment Tribunal Compensation Limits Increase

From 6 April 2018, new increased compensation limits for employment tribunal claims will come into force, as follows:

Employment Tribunal compensation limits increases

From 6 April 2018, new increased compensation limits for employment tribunal claims will come into force, as follows:

  • maximum amount of a week's pay: £508 (increased from £489) (used for calculating a redundancy payment or for various awards including the unfair dismissal basic award)
  • limit on amount of unfair dismissal compensatory award: £83,682 (increased from £80,541)
  • minimum amount of unfair dismissal basic award for trade union, health and safety, working time representative, pension scheme trustee and employee representative dismissals: £6,203 (increased from £5,970)
  • minimum amount for unlawful exclusion or expulsion from trade union: £9,474 (increased from £9,118)
  • maximum guarantee payment per day: £28 (increased from £27)
  • amount for unlawful inducement relating to trade union membership/activities or collective bargaining: £4,059 (increased from £3,907)
