One of the issues with boundary disputes is that they invariably involve the very people you want to maintain a cordial relationship with – your next door neighbour. 

To that end, “Dickensian litigation” should be avoided at all costs.  Whenever a boundary dispute arises it is worth considering the following principles when it comes to establishing disputed boundary positions.

The first task is to review the title deeds.
