Suspected theft by Employee

A club had consulted the police over an alleged theft. The Club had been advised by the Police the CCTV footage evidence it had was inadequate to pursue a criminal conviction. The Club sought employment law advice from the NGCAA. The NGCAA’s employment law adviser discussed the evidence with the Club, and advised of the different legal tests a tribunal would apply, compared to a criminal court. Bearing in mind the different tests and standards of burden of proof, the Club was able to proceed with its internal investigation and deal with the employee in question.
